New Single and Music Video
The first single from Cause and Effect, the new recording project by Tom Frye with Family and Friends, released in March of 2026! Second Hand Smoke, written by Tom and Rhyan Shirley (We are Messengers, Bethel Music, Colton Dixon, Rachel Lampa), was penned in the midst of a long estrangement with his parents. This emotional song recalls special childhood moments while reflecting both the ache of loss and the hope for redemption. This song has been a staple in the FFB concert set since 2021 and is now available on all major streaming platforms. You can also watch the music video on the Frye Family Band's Youtube Channel.
Second Single and Music Video from the forthcoming Cause and Effect project
The second single from Cause and Effect, the new recording project by Tom Frye with Family and Friends, released in August of 2026! The project's only cover song, The Ballad of Curtis Loew, features Frye Family Band members Jonny Frye on bass and Mane Frye Hernandez on backing vocals. The Fryes were joined in the studio by Marty Wright on Hammond Organ and Lynyrd Skynyrd's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer Artimus Pyle on drums and percussion, as well as Artimus Pyle Band members Scott Raines and Jerry Lyda on electric and slide guitar. Unlike the original version, this new version includes a dobro, played by Matt Singleton. The FFB has covered The Ballad of Curtis Loew in their live shows for years as a hat tip to their influence on Tom's songwriting. You can also watch the new music video, filmed in studio, as well as Tom's post recording session conversation with Artimus on the Frye Family Band's Youtube Channel.
